SUCCESS STORIES
Real recoveries, real results
Long-lasting recovery from a car accident concussion
Michael spun out while driving in the rain and hit the median. He was diagnosed with a mild concussion, and was told about ACC by a friend. We tested his reaction timing, hearing, balance, and vision—among many other tests. Our team created an individualized treatment plan that put Michael’s recovery right within his control.
Michael healed fast, and didn’t suffer long-term symptoms.
Helping a soccer player overcome a header gone wrong
Luke was knocked out by a soccer ball while playing. Soon after, he started suffering from nausea, light sensitivity and headaches. After six months of failed treatments, he reached out to ACC. Our team created a custom Return-to-Play program that treated the underlying traumas causing his symptoms over several months.
Luke recovered fully, and soon he was back on the field.
Overcoming an old concussion with lingering symptoms
Amber abruptly fainted at home and hit the base of her skull. She’d experienced severe concussion symptoms (including daily migraines) for over a year before she came to ACC for help. Our team guided her through an interdisciplinary recovery plan involving physiotherapy, neuropsychology, and clinical counseling. Regular therapy paid off, and within a few months the year-old symptoms were gone.
Free from chronic symptoms, Amber started training for a half-marathon.
